    • COVID Precautions/Protocols:

      • We follow the City of Torrance policy. Masks are not required but recommended for anyone who is especially vulnerable to COVID. If someone tests positive for COVID, Isolate for 5 days (if you are no longer symptomatic after 5 days) and wear a mask through the 10th day. Please see La County guidance at http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/covidisolation/

    • Music:

      • Please see set-list emailed to you. If you did not get the e-mail, please send me a remoinder at TCCDirector@torranceca.gov  Please note we will also will/may be singing The Christmas Dream, Star Spangled Banner, African Noel, and Holiday Film Festival. If possible, this music will be passed out on Monday. On the chart, click the music title for the PDF of the sheet music and the part-track for the practice track (S = soprano, A = alto, etc.). 6 people who need to bring $25 music deposit (check or cash).  They should come a little earlier to help us start on time.

    • Music Center Performance on 12/24:

      • We have more info and more on the way including everything show related such as contract, dress, show order, social media, rehearsal times, etc.

      • What we know:

        • Groups are required to attend and participate in a one-hour rehearsal on 12/2/2023

        • Groups will be assigned a mandatory spacing rehearsal or soundcheck time on either 12/22/2023, 12/23/2023, or the morning of 12/24/2023

        • Groups are required to complete all mandatory financial and production-related documents (e.g. TV release form, W9) by November 1, 2023

    • Enrollment:

      • ​9 people who had not registered as of 9/18/23, 46 people in rehearsal on 9/23,2 people absent (but have registered). We are approaching 50! Nice! We still can add new members. Please spread the news! Next week we will have audition/interviews at 9:30 pm, right after rehearsal. Prospective members should come at 7:30 pm to rehearse and then meet with me afterward. Returners do not need to audition. 17 and 18 year olds may join if they are approved by their high school choir teacher.

    • Roster: A roster will be sent out as soon as it is final with information redacted as requested by members (such as address/phone). 

    • TCC Jazz Singers:

      • People who are interested in TCC Jazz Singers should come early - 6:15pm - to get music issued to them.  MUST be registered. Additional music will be learned and most of the music is in the jazz idiom which will include more microphones, 1 mic per singer when the group sings in 1-2 festivals in the Spring. Maximum of 16-18 members. If more than that want to join, we will need to hold auditions. Some of the music is 1 on a part and some is a cappella. Spring Jazz Festivals may include the Oceanside Vocal Jazz Festival and the Fullerton Jazz Festival. The group will be a community group performing in the college division. Here is a video from one of the great college vocal jazz ensembles to see what we are working towards, University of North Texas, Fascinating Rhythm. This week take a listen to New York Voices, The Real Group, Manhattan Transfer, Take Six, Idea of North, Lambert, Henricks, and Ross, and Singers Unlimited.
