  • 3/17/23 Updates

    • I was impressed by all those members who stepped up and auditioned for solos last week! There are a few people who did not have a chance to sing last week, so we will go again this Monday at 7 pm for anyone we missed. Please note auditions for the Chamber Singers (AKA "The Little Group") will be assigned and/or held during the 6:30 pm rehearsals.

    • Please see our revised set-list. The next list will have solos indicated including the featured singers in the set before the intermission (after TCC Set 1, before Torrance Theatre Company).

    • Please see attached ad information and pass along to your networks.

    • Rehearsal reminders: 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10 (Nakano 6:30-7:15/7:30-9:30), 4/1 (Toyota Meeting Room 9 am-12 pm), 4/17 (Armstrong 6-10 pm) 

    • SHOW: Broadway in Torrance (Armstrong 6-7 pm tech, 7:30-9:30 pm concert)

  • 3/12/23 Updates:

    • On 3/13 we will rehearse Phantom of the Opera and Can't Stop the Beat, plus pick-up here we left off on some of the other songs.

    • Regular rehearsals on 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17. 

    • For 3/13 (and maybe 3/20) solo auditions will be 7-7:45 and we will start at 7:45 with the regular group. Chamber Singers will meet 6:30-7 on these days as needed.

    • 4/1 is a 9 am-12 pm rehearsal in the Toyota Conference Center.

    • 4/17 is a 6-10 pm rehearsal in the Armstrong Theater.

    • 4/22 is our concert with a 6 pm call-time/tech run-through (6-7 pm). Concert starts at 7:30 pm.

    • After 4/22, we are on summer break until the Fall.

  • 2/28/23 Updates:

    •  Awesome rehearsal last night! Please note we will continue with our rehearsal plans for the next 3-4 weeks (3/6: Wicked, Into the Woods, Not While I'm Around) We will adjust as needed and fit in Family Madrigal on another night.

    • We are set for our Saturday Workshop on APRIL 1, 9 am-12 pm, in the Toyota Meeting Hall (it's in the same complex).

  • 2/25/23 Updates:

      • 3/6:  Wicked, Into the Woods, Not While I'm Around

      • 3/13: Phantom of the Opera, Family Madrigal   (SOLO AUDITIONS 7-7:45 pm)

  • 2/16/23 Updates:

    • Feb. 17 Kashiwa Delegation Welcome

      • ​Meet in front of City Hall no later than 8:15 am to warm-up. Event starts between 8:30 and 8:45 am and be over by 9:15 am.

      • Wear red TCC polo shirt or any other red or white polo of button shirt. Best not to wear a t-shirt.

      • We will sing the Star Spangled Banner and Kimigayo, both without accompaniment.

    • Feb. 18 Friendship Festival

      • Dinner is at 5 pm. Plates given out at the Armstrong, eat in the Nakano.

      • Call time is 6:15 pm, in the Green Room, backstage of the Armstrong. The house opens at 6 pm, so you can enter in the front.

      • Please wear concert dress, formal attire/black (no tuxes this time). 

      • Please note we will not have chairs set up, just the risers. We have a few stools available and chairs as needed. Our program is about 10-11 minutes long.

      • We open the concert at 7 pm. Stay for the program if possible.

      • We will sing Star Spangled Banner, Kimigayo, Sakura, Sakura, and Flowers Will Bloom

  • 2/5/23 Updates:

    • We are singing an additional song for the Kashiwa Sister City Event Friendship Festival event on 2/18/23, the Japanese National Anthem, Kimigayo. We will also sing it at the morning event on Feb. 16. (attached)

    • We will be focused on the 2/16/2/18 music on 2/6 and 2/13 (Star Spangled Banner, Kimigayo, Sakura, and Flowers Will Bloom.

    • We will start to fit in our 4/22 music the next two weeks and jump into "Broadway" full-time on 2/20/23.

    • We will discuss a a proposal tomorrow to slightly alter what the men are wearing on 2/18.

    • Practice tracks are now posted on the website under "Music".

    • Rehearsals: 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/1, 4/10, 4/17. Performances: 2/16, 2/18, 4/22

  • 1/22/23 Updates:

    • We have rehearsal tomorrow (1-23-23) at the Nakano!

      • Everyone rehearses from 7:30-9:30 pm.

      • 6:30-7:15 pm for anyone interested in singing in the TCC Chamber Singers. All are invited to self-select, however, please be sure you are up to the challenge of singing in groups of 4-12 (sometimes 1 on a part) and learning an additional set of music for our 4/22 concert.

    • There will be a fitting session for new women to the TCC at 6:30 pm on 1/23/23 (tomorrow). Please see attached.

    • We will be working on the 3 songs for the 2/18 concert on 1/23, 2/6 and 2/13 and adding songs for our concert on 4/22 as time allows. I typically like to start with the openers and closers of each set if that helps (Into the Woods, You Can't Stop the Beat, etc.)

    • Please note we may still enroll new singers! We will hold auditions/interviews each week at 9:30 pm. Please spread the word!
